Requirements &Registration

I do not study one of the mentioned subjects. Can I participate nevertheless?

We presume a basic knowledge of business matters. If you are not sure whether your knowledge is sufficient, please contact our project management.

I am not a student at the moment. Is it possible to participate in the course nevertheless?

No, unfortunately, we can only offer our courses to students that are currently enrolled for a degree subject. This is due to license reasons we have with SAP University Alliance.

Is it possible to take a course while studying abroad?

Yes. State your home university when you register for a course and please send us an enrollment receipt from both your home university as well as your university abroad.

I have no prior knowledge of SAP whatsoever. Which course would you recommend for me?

Our basic introductory course is Integrated Business Processes with SAP ERP (TERP10). All other SAP products build upon the knowledge you will gain in this course. A great benefit of the course is that, at its end, you can take the official exam by SAP and gain the worldwide recognized certificate C_TERP10_65.

Can I register for several courses at the same time?

Many participants take two courses within one semester. Please be advised, however, that the courses are very comprehensive (6 ECTS = 180 hours) and that there will be no extensions of the deadline.

Can I pay by installments?

No, this is not possible. However, the courses are offered every semester.

My employer would pay for the course. Is there anything I have to know for this case?

When filling out the registration form, just add a billing address and enter your employer’s data.

Procedure of the Course

What is the exact procedure of the course? Who can I ask when there are questions? And what are the effects when I make mistakes?

On the first day of the course you will receive a welcome e-mail with all the necessary login-data. You can then download the SAP GUI and access the forums on the e-learning platform. (Note: This e-mail will be sent to you on the first day of the course – not directly after your registration!)
You will then have 4 months to solve the case studies and read all the scripts (you can download the material on the e-learning platform as well). There will not be any deadlines except for the last day of the course.
You will have access to the system 24/7. Also, the tutor will be there for you and your questions every day. Do not hesitate to ask for help. Mistakes will be made and that is okay! You will sort them out with your tutor and eventually correct them yourself.
When solving all the case studies, the course is passed and you will be awarded the certificate of the University Duisburg-Essen.
You can then register for the SAP exam (see below).

Do I have to be present at a university at any time?

No, you don’t. The course takes place 100% online. It is only for the SAP exam that you would have to go to the specific location.

Can I start the course early?

No. All participants start at the same day. The course runs 4 months. You can, however, finish early. If you work full-time, it should be possible to solve the course in about three weeks.

I have never done an e-learning course. Is it worth all the money?

We are not a private vendor but a university. We have been offering these courses for more than five years, counting more than 10.000 participants from over 70 countries.

Are there any lecture notes?

There are lecture notes in pdf-files to be downloaded on the e-learning platform. You can download them after receiving your welcome e-mail.

Do I have to buy any software?

No, a PC with internet is sufficient. The SAP GUI will be provided as a download and all lecture notes can be opened with Open Office.
For SAP BI, however, you need MS Office.

I will be on vacation during the course. Is that okay?

Sure. If you want to keep working on the course on your vacation, all you need is a PC with the SAP GUI, an internet access and your login data. If you decide to take a break from the course for a couple of days or even weeks, that is also okay. Just be aware of the final deadline.

After the Course: Exam & Certification

In case I do not pass the certification exam, can I take it again, or do I have to take the whole course all over?

You have two resits, as long as you are still a student. When you book the exam via erp4students, you only have to pay the fee for the exam.
You can also book the exam directly at SAP. This, however, is more expensive.

Can I get 6 ECTS for taking the course?

When successfully solving all case studies, you will be awarded the university-certificate signed by the project management and the head of the chair of business informatics (Prof. Dr. H. Adelsberger). This certificate lists the course contents and states the course’s extent (180 hours = 6 ECTS). It is then up to your university whether they count these credits or not. Please talk to the respective people at your home university about this matter.

Will there be a grade for this course?

No, there is passed and failed only.

Are these certificates really of any value?

The university-certificate is very popular because it states the practical work on the system. The official SAP-certificate is respected and recognized world-wide in all big businesses that work with SAP. These certificates are sure to valorize your CV to a great extent.

Moreover, the course fees are very keen compared to the regular, not discounted fees in business life. The course Integrated Business Processes with SAP ERP (TERP10) regularly costs 5.900€ + VAT = 7.021€

I already know the course contents from books. Can I book the exam only?

No, you have to take our course in order to take the exam to our discounted price.

What is the best way to prepare for the exam?

This, of course, depends on what kind of a learning type you are. Generally, all the necessary theory is in the scripts we provide. You do not need any other books. We also provide some hints along the way, pointing at stuff that is more or less important.
What we cannot do is offer you example questions from old exams since they are under the copyright and license from SAP.
