20 Years – 20 Stories: Marc Howeis (Part 10)

marcMarc Howeis’ story shows how different paths into the SAP environment can be. The mechanical engineer has many years of experience in oil and gas pipeline construction in Saudi Arabia and today combines international practical experience with an MBA program at RWTH Aachen University and a working student position in Supply Chain Management at Toshiba TRG Europe in Aachen.

For quite some time, he had been thinking about entering the SAP world in greater depth. Through an online search, he eventually came across erp4students.

“Actually, I had wanted to take SAP courses for a long time and was looking for them online.”

Over the following months, Marc completed several courses from different SAP areas, including SAP MM, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Customizing and End-to-End Business Processes with SAP S/4HANA Cloud (IEE2E).

What was particularly important to him was not only the technical understanding of the systems, but also the view of the underlying business processes.

“The courses do not only cover pure SAP content, but also explain the underlying business processes, which helped me a lot with practical implementation.”

He describes the combination of theory, practice and case studies as particularly helpful. He also has positive memories of the support provided during the courses.

“The courses are perfectly designed, the case studies cover the entire course content, and the instructor is always available to answer questions.”

Marc has a clear goal for his professional future: entering SAP consulting. He sees SAP certifications as an important next step on this path.

“I plan to work as an SAP consultant and would first like to take the SAP certifications.”

He would also recommend the courses to others interested in SAP – not only as preparation for certifications, but also as a long-term knowledge base.

“The courses are not only designed for certifications, but also serve as a reference that you can return to at any time.”

Marc Howeis’ story shows how practice-oriented SAP learning can help connect existing professional experience with new digital skills – and thereby create new career perspectives.
